Dawna Williams Honored as Golden State Valkyries Mentor of the Month

East Oakland Boxing Association is proud to celebrate our Executive Director, Dawna Williams, who was honored as the Golden State Valkyries Mentor of the Month for May.

Presented by 2K in collaboration with MENTOR California, the Valkyries’ Mentor of the Month program recognizes Bay Area leaders who show up for young people, lead with care, and help shape brighter futures in their communities.

This recognition is a meaningful tribute to Dawna’s years of dedication to East Oakland youth and families. Through her leadership at EOBA, Dawna has helped create a safe, supportive space where young people can build confidence, discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

We are grateful to the Golden State Valkyries for recognizing the power of mentorship and for uplifting community leaders who are investing in the next generation.
