At the East Oakland Boxing Association young people do not just participate, they run the show.

Every part of our organization from janitorial and maintenance to IT, gardening, enrichment coaching, community outreach, and even the grants team is powered by youth.

In a neighborhood where opportunities for young people are rare but potential is abundant, EOBA creates a place where brilliance can thrive. Our teens and young adults step into real leadership roles, manage programs, solve problems, and hold each other accountable. They learn that excellence and discipline are not just expected, they are built together.

Each team member must maintain strong grades and bring their best to both school and work. Many balance high school or college while managing responsibilities that would challenge most adults. They come from different schools, neighborhoods, and stories, but together they form one family, a living example of what happens when opportunity replaces despair and young people are trusted to lead.

At EOBA youth do not wait for their future to begin. They are already building it.
