We create safe spaces for Oakland’s youth

Using boxing as a model of discipline, courage, and perseverance

East Oakland Boxing Association (EOBA) provides high-quality programming and services that promote mental and physical wellness, academic achievement and build vital life skills. We create space for youth to practice, hone, and internalize the tools and attitudes needed to be exemplars of well-being for their peers, families, and communities.

Serving all Oakland youth from ages 5-20

Our programs are divided into two age ranges:

  • Youth aged 5-13, who are eligible to enroll in the EOBA after school program.

  • Youth aged 14-20, who are eligible to enroll in our Building C.H.AM.P.I.O.N.S.  and/or Boxing programs.  Youth enrolled in the Boxing program are required to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours a month to maintain their gym membership.
